Green Room – Grasshoppers
These are some activities you will find the Grasshoppers doing in the Green Room:
Circle Time: At this time, you will find us clapping, laughing, learning about weather, and familiarizing ourselves with the calendar. We also love marching in very loud instrument parades! The teachers help kids learn colors by going on scavenger hunts for the color of the week. Daily puppet shows help the children use their imagination while learning fairy tales and nursery rhymes.
Art: We really, REALLY enjoy getting messy in this room. We paint from our hands down to our toes. This also helps us learn body parts (sometimes you’ll hear us chorusing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”). We also get to know our fruits and veggies by smelling, tasting, and painting with them.
Potty Training: From reading books to singing songs about how fun it is to wear underwear, teachers in the green room encourage the kids to be excited when they can use the potty by themselves. Children are proud to be a big kid!
