Red Room – Ladybugs & Boy Beetles

In the Red Room also known as the Ladybugs and Boy Beetles, we have fun as we indulge in the wonders of learning and having so much fun while doing it.  The Red Room is our Pre-Kindergarten Room.

Fun things you can expect in the Red Room:

Circle Time: Consists of getting our brains ready to focus and learn with some fun music and movement. Then moving on to working with the calendar, patterning and sequencing. Talking about the weather and seasons and how they change. Lastly, we have the children leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Group Activities: Are where we work together in groups on various projects such as journaling, which involves them writing their first and last names, numbers, phone numbers and home address, just to name a few. Art is also another activity that we endeavor in, by letting the kids create their own version of a specific project that the classroom is working on.

Center Time: Allows the children to be able to choose from a number of areas to work on in the classroom. From blocks and transportation to the home living area, quiet and or reading area. Writing and drawing area, while playing folder games and working on puzzles.

Loft: The loft is a fun and quiet place to be.  It is a place that the children can go to get away from all the excietment.  We have different types of toys for them in this space that are switched out according to our learning themes.

Sensory –  The children love the sensory area.  It is a place that they can get dirty and use their hands.  Some of the items are water, sand, dirt and flour.  Also in this area they get to play with their favorite the GOO!!!!

Paint –  Painting is a big thing with every class room. We try to paint everyday.  We paint with fingers, hands, toes and many other different objects.
